WHAT TO EXPECT

General Information

Questions come up a lot when you’ re looking for a reality that won’ t leave you empty and cheated. The following are some of the most common questions asked about the Christian faith. The answers to these questions are brief but they are not intended to be total and complete answers. We encourage you to study and examine these issues further. The Christian must be prepared to give honest answers to honest questions. We have a responsibility to “give a reason for the hope within us ”  (1 Peter 3: 15)

Faith Common Questions

How can Christians say that Jesus is the only way to God?  All religions are basically good aren’t they?  God is not that narrow-minded.

How can a loving God allow war and suffering?

Suffering is very real and cannot be dealt with superficially.  No one can tell us why we must go through suffering. Christians acknowledge the presence of evil and suffering in life.  Jesus was a man who was the suffering servant, “a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.” (Isaiah 53: 3)  In the Bible suffering is simply recognized as a part of the experience of every human being.

Suffering is the result of sin and related to sin, but people do not always suffer in direct proportion to their sin.

The ultimate question of suffering is, “Why don’t we all suffer more than we do?” Why does God tolerate us as we continue to sin. Luke 13: 1 – 5

What should I wear?

Our church has a “come as you are” atmosphere. You will see some dressed up; some dressed casual. We have no expectations for attire.


STARTING POINT

If you’re interested in getting connected at our church or involved in the life of the church, Starting Point is your first step.

During our time together, you’ll meet our staff, learn how to get involved, and understand key truths of the Christian faith. This class is designed to be a conversational environment where you discover more about our church and our mission as a church. Starting Point is held Sundays at 9:00 am in the Café and includes a free breakfast.

How do I get involved?

There are many ways to get involved. Here are four of them:
1) Come to a worship service on the weekend.
2) Look into joining a Small Group, and get to know some great people.
3) Come to Wednesday Night Together, and enjoy a meal with the church family.
4) Find a Serve opportunity, Here, Near or Far.
